Ignorance of Civics and History
USA Today has a story out about ISI’s study of test results for a quiz they give to college students over History and Civics.
You can take the quiz yourself. (My results below)

I’m not so great with years. I missed two questions on years (one of which I should’ve gotten, and I think I just clicked the wrong one on) and the question on Saddam’s most reliable supporters.
Now, I grant you that I am somewhat unusual, in that I actually enjoy studying history and civics. However, I would expect that someone attending Harvard or Yale would definitely outdo me on one of these tests. The results that they have made available are truly disappointing. Not only are our children being failed by public institutions, but they’re being failed by our private ones as well.
