The Gospel of Judas

Here we go again. National Geographic has published a 66 page manuscript from around 300AD purporting to speak to the relationship between Judas Iscariot and Jesus Christ. According to the reports I’ve heard today, it portrays Judas as one of Jesus’ favorite disciples, and that He (Jesus) and Judas cooked up the betrayal together. That Judas accepted on himself the responsibility to do what Jesus needed him to so he could attain immortality…to “clinch” being the Son of God.

I can hear you now, “what a load of hogwash”. Well, duh. But wait, it gets better. This is coming out because someone (Herb Crosney) has written a book based on it called “The Lost Gospel”. I assume the point is to try and change people’s attitudes about Judas.
