Sovereign Grace Fellowship

SGF is the church Eddie Exposito (Mfibo) is a co-elder of down in southern Louisiana. He and his family are safe further inland currently, and from all reports all ten families in the church are accounted for. God has provided both elders at least with a place to stay for the time being, yet like most survivors, funds are thin. If you would like to keep tabs on how things are going for them, there is a blog that has been setup for the church here. If you would like to help the elders, and the church, during this time of their need I would encourage you to do so. There is a link at the bottom of this post that you can use to donate to help them through this time. It is currently being managed by Alpha and Omega ministries, but once the two elders manage to get things organized it will be handed over to them.

What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” James 2:14-18

The truth grounds for lawsuit?

From the article:

The New Hampshire attorney general is investigating a Rochester doctor because a patient complained that he bluntly told her she needed to lose weight.

Dr. Terry Bennett said that he’s outraged by what he calls a baseless complaint. A patient was apparently insulted when Bennett told her that she was obese and could only get healthier by losing weight.

So now this fellow is being investigated….for being honest and direct with his patient. Now, I admit that it is possible he was rude, but that doesn’t seem to be the tone of the article. However, even if he’s rude, I see no need for an investigation by the attorney general. I mean seriously, if she doesn’t like what he has to say, there are a ton of other doctors out there that’ll happily take her money in exchange for lying to her. Just go.
