RC Sproul Blog entry (Updated)

It’s ancient, (June 7) but I just saw it today. While obviously I strongly disagree with his support of Peroutka, I have to say he and I can stand shoulder to shoulder on this:

It has long been argued by wise men that the Democrats are driving this nation to a deadly cliff at sixty miles an hour. Republicans, on the other hand, want to drive at thirty miles an hour. My pragmatic Christian friends have been arguing that we need to get us a thirty mile an hour president. But isn’t it so much better to have the car stand still, while the thirties and the sixties fight for control? Give me that old fashioned gridlock, so that we can be left alone. Let the Beltway Babylon babble on, so we can get on with our lives.

If we can’t go in a good direction, I’d definately rather not go anywhere at all. Give me an uncomprimising republican congress and a democratic candidate any day.

Still won’t protect us against laws like PATRIOT which somehow get the support of both parties. And as time goes on and the demonpublicans become more and more alike gridlock will likely become a think of the past, but for now, we can enjoy it.

Note that he also states he would vote for Kerry if not for CP. While I agree with his lack of problem with gridlock, I don’t think I could actively vote for Kerry. What kind of a message does that send? It says I support Kerry and his values. It sends a message to the republican party that if they become /more/ like the democrats they’ll get more votes. If you’re not comfortable voting for Bush, vote for someone to the right of him, send a positive message.

Driveway washes out; WWII bomb surfaces: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Filed under: General — Shamgar @ 1:25 pm

Here’s a new one, a hurricane that potentially saved lives! The hurricane apparently washed out enough of a driveway to reveal a live bomb buried underneath that has been there since the WWII era.
